Tonight's game against Sittingbourne is important for Hythe. Although it is early season and defeats are not that significant, morale is a factor in progressing. They have played fewer matches than any other team in the division and tonight represents an opportunity to use the game(s) in hand to their advantage. No one is suggesting that it will be easy, but Sittingbourne, along with most other sides, have only made an average start to the season. Only Ramsgate, Beckenham, Whitehawk and perhaps Chatham can say that they have started the season well. If they should win, Hythe can number themselves among them. All of this, of course, depends upon other results going the right way.

Well, they made it to 8th and have games in hand. Well-placed at this early part of the season. It is now a matter of being able to sustain it.
