 We Go High Definition

BKVP Sport is about to start filming in high definition and in future, all productions will appear in the 16.9 widescreen format, rather than the traditional, but soon to be obsolete, standard 4.3 format.

High definition can only be seen to its fullest by production on Blue Ray, but many people have not been persauded as to the benefits of switching from DVD to that format. However, if one plays a DVD using a 1080p upscaling player/recorder via an HDMI lead, the resultant picture falls very close indeed to full HD.

Web streamed footage will also be presented in widescreen, but converted to DV rather than HD. With the latter, the file size becomes so big that some users might encounter buffering problems if their PC/internet connection is not top notch.

If the customer should wish it, we are now able to produce material in high definition on a Blueray disc.

The first programme to be filmed using the new high definition camera, will be the football match which takes place at The Homelands stadium on Wednesday 14th October. The resultant DVD will not be in the HD format, but because the original source material will be far superior than the standard definition, the DVD will show a much improved picture quality. However, to see it in even better quality, it really needs a daylight event.
